Ohhhh yeah, Bad Baby Fashions is back -- with a vengeance -- in Venice! Venice, CA that is. If you've never been to the honky tonk seaside gem that is Venice, you're missing out. It's incredibly colorful, both in its places and people, and as a photographer, you could spend the whole day here and never run out of interesting places to shoot. It's camera-in-a-candy-store time!
Beth Andrus' fashionable, energetic T-shirts + Venice are peanut butter and jelly perfect. They just go together! Our first shoot together was this past spring, and our second time around doesn't disappoint. Beth continues to produce some amazing designs, and our model, Elisabeth, did a fantastic job showcasing the shirts -- in fact, she was such an eye-catching celebrity that we had a tourist jump in to have their picture taken with her. Hah!
I love doing these shoots because everyone on the team is always so collaborative, and there's a lot of play to be creative with the pictures. Most of these new shirt styles are going to start popping up on the Bad Baby website, so be sure to give Beth's online shop a visit and pick up a new top or two!
With photography packages so focused on delivering a quantity of pictures, it's easy to forget (myself included) the value of a singular image. A friend of the family has been courageously fighting some challenges lately, requiring her to spend an extended time away from home -- and loved ones -- during her recovery. Her husband knew she was particularly going to miss their beloved dog, Daisie, and proposed we photograph and frame the four-legged red head, as a gift -- to lift her spirits while away and ease the separation.
One image, but it was wonderful to see the photograph deliver so much more. Our continued wishes for strength, and a speedy recovery!

Well, not for little Saanvi! -- who recently turned the big 365 days young and was surrounded by tons of guests, thrilled in games galore, dined on cakes and chocolate fountains, and enjoyed heaps of love from close family and friends. And now, beautiful Saanvi will have a crib-load of pictures to remind her of the rockin' party mom and dad threw her at the East Lake Village Clubhouse.
Chaitali and Hiren, friends of ours and the evening's gracious hosts, commissioned me to photograph their niece's birthday, and I was thrilled to work on this event because their family celebrations are always enriched with flair, color, and culture. You guys did an awesome job pulling everything together -- from the party favors, the games, the buffet. I also thought it was a cool touch to incorporate a celebration for Saanvi's dad recent graduation, as well as their Grandmother's birthday -- party multitasking!
I also have to thank Gian -- for helping assist and cheering me on like always!
Happy 1st Birthday, Saanvi! Dharmesh and Manali, your daughter is a doll. I wonder what's in store for birthday Number Two?? Enjoy!
