Laurel and Amelia: Cousinly Love

Cousins Laurel and Amelia shared the spotlight on this shoot, and everyone had a fun day just playing in the quiet of the backyard. Laurel is a future movie star, a natural -- running around all smiles and striking poses for the camera. She loved goofing around with the Croquet mallets laying in the grass -- I think at one point, she was able to hold four or five at once!

Baby Amelia has the most amazing dimples and wasn't at all shy flashing her big smile at the camera. I have to wonder what these little babies are thinking when they see me snapping away up close. In fact, at one point, Amelia reached right out to me, her tiny fingers open wide, as if to borrow the camera. Ha-Ha. I think we have another future photographer! Thanks for the fun day everyone! Joshua: The Slideshow

While we were shooting Joshua's photo session, there were a lot of other activities going on in the park. One was a BBQ, and the festive tunes from their radio soon caught Joshua's ear. His eyes lit up and -- boom -- he just started working it out, dancing, right on the spot!

Today, as I was putting this slideshow together, Joshua's free-spirited footwork came back to mind -- and "dancing" truly seemed the most fitting theme to tie the day's worth of images together.

Dog on the Blog!

It's my brother's birthday today, so I thought it'd be a fun gift to surprise him with some overdue formal pictures I snapped of his ever-so-cool dog, Skyfox. This pooch is a real camera ham -- he just loved having his photo taken. Either that, or I wore the poor guy out chasing him all over the yard, and he just decided to surrender and collapse in the bushes. Anyhow, what a cute big ball of fuzz!

Joshua: A Day In The Park

Well, as promised, there's a lot of new sessions to be added to the site, and what better a way to kick things off than with Mike, Jodi, and their two-year old son, Joshua. The four of us met up in Marina del Rey on a perfect Saturday morning, and I couldn't have asked for a more amazing time. Mike and Jodi told me they had not had professional pictures taken before, so I really wanted them to feel relaxed, be themselves, and be able to laugh at me and my crazy camera zipping around. Joshua had no trouble with that at all -- as soon as his dad let him loose, Joshua hit the ground running, dancing, and kept me on my toes. Lots of hide and go seek, blowing bubbles, gummy bears -- what more could a photographer ask for. I think Joshua liked it, too. ;)

At the time of this shoot, Mike and Jodi were eagerly expecting a new addition to their family. So, congratulations to you both again, and thanks for letting me capture this special time in your lives. Here's a few teasers... tune in for a slideshow in the coming days to see lots more!
